Nice weekend…afterall
The past weekend had the promise of being a lousy one….. specially since I was to be working the entire weekend starting Thursday!!! however the only bit of hope was that I’ll be spending it travelling around the countryside & visiting some awesome places I have’nt bin to since the time I was like 7 (when my father took me & my bro hostage for family vacations!!!!)……
So off I went 8 hrs into the road on the way to Monaragala(Felt like i was on singled out!! travelling unnacompanied with 10 + clients)… I decided to have fun on this venture no matter wht the outcome as I was giving up a weekend at Unawatuna getting some much needed r’n’r and S/D/R (don’t ask!! 
) … The drive was fast (which was superb!!) and the roads were excelent as we took the newly completed Ratnapura rd (afeter years of repairing) we got copped on the way as well but hey everything turned out cool!!! passes Udawalawe on the way… saw the sun set over the damn (fuckinh beautiful) and counted 6 hungry elephents begging for food as we sped by – It’s sad that people still encourage this shit !! right in front of big ass bilboards saying (DON”T FEED THE DAMN WILD ELEPHANTS!!!) Makes me woneder do people give a rats ass abt these boards ??!!- wht the hell am I doin in advertisin???? Maybe i shld join Nat geo & educate the moronic Sri Lankan Bajauw traveller on having a saving grace & STOP destroying things at the expence of their fucking trip!!
Moving on…. Monaragala seemed a normal place & we had a window in the the night for a good session of getting to know each other (not wht ur thinking…. we met up for a drink) where I got the low down of wht to do in Monaraga… It’s a great place for hiking (not for me!!) and also there’s a mountain top where the climate is the same as Nuwara eliya – this area is supposed to have 3 awesome bunglows (get in touch wit me for details for booking these) he he but the best thing abt Monaragala was the midnight meal!!! move over Pilla! this little joint at the main bus stand serves a mean maggi noodles kothu which is to die for!!! howver the visit which was to continue from Monaragala to Minneriya to Anuradhapura to Pollonnaruwa got cut short… and I ended up in colombo the very next day!!!! all in all Monaragala seemed nice & I will certainly check out the hills over there very soon!!!
Well with the weekend cut short & me back in col again with absolutely fuck all to do! So I cooked up a plan !! hell i will not miss the beach for one more week… Unawatuna it is!!!! BUt time was short but the roads (Again) wewre awesome (Atleast somebody in government is doing something!!! amazing) we stayed at this awesome place “Upuls” This place reminds me of the tower of piza!! amazingly built vertical structure with a staircase that will give you vertigo!! but the rooms are cool & the view from the rooms on top is to die for!! seriously!! awesome place & Upul serves up an amazing pizza!! Unawatuna saved the week for me serious R’n ‘ R and S/D and a no R but it did the trick!!! all in all SUPEERB!!!!! if your ever in Una stay at the top room at upuls u’ll not regret it!!!check out the pic….

Hey Beachbumm, it’s good to see you have widened your horizons to encompass the hill country as well. You have a knack for storytelling, and with the amount of mileage you seem to be piling up, there should be plenty to write about! So keep it up and take us with you wherever you go. BTW does the code S/D/R end with the words “rock & roll”?
hey … I’ve not bin writing for a while bin traveling around!! every week end actually… it’s bin good… and yes it does end wit rock n roll
